We believe the importance of design as a sector is under-represented in Northern Ireland. This survey is a call to action. It will help us to move the design agenda forward.

This is not a piece of government research or an exercise in statistics. The Northern Ireland Design Alliance was established in 2009 by designers to support designers and promote the value of design. To progress this agenda, we need to know more about the designers and businesses that make up our sector here.

In addition, the NI Design Alliance is seeking to build a design directory, similar to that available in other parts of the UK. This will, for the first time, provide an online database of design companies here (participation in this directory is optional).
